What does Onnit do

Onnit aims to inspire people to achieve peak performance through a combination of unique products and actionable information. Based on a philosophy of Total Human Optimization, it was founded by Aubrey Marcus as a nutritional supplements brand in 2010. The brand has since evolved to become a leader in sports nutrition and now generates $28 million every year from sales of foods, fitness equipment, education and apparel.

 

What are their business goals

Onnit wanted to drive more website clicks and generate new sales from their Facebook ads at a low cost per acquisition (CPA). To achieve this, the company was running tests on their creatives to determine which performed the best.

 

What were the challenges they faced

Running tests on all of their creatives was a costly endeavor for Onnit, given the company's extensive range of brands and products. With no way to predict which would perform ahead of time, valuable budget was wasted on multiple rounds of testing.

After running Facebook campaigns with the winning ads over a number of weeks, Onnit started to see a dip in their ad performance. Click through rates (CTR) dropped while the cost per acquisition (CPA) increased. Prospective customers were seeing the same ads too frequently, and ad fatigue had set in.

Onnit needed to refresh their Facebook ads with new creatives to get their campaign on track again. Video creatives were preferred for better performance in the Facebook ad auction, but it was difficult for their internal design team to produce enough across all brands in a short time.

Just 72 hours later, a total of 48 new creatives were produced by our designers and Onnit could select from a range of formats including static, video and cinemagraphs to suit their advertising needs. Producing a large volume of creative iterations in a short period of time was now possible, and this allowed Onnit's internal design team to focus on producing new content.

 

Predicted Creative Performance based on AI

All of ReFUEL4's creatives were analyzed and ranked according to predicted performance by our AI-powered engine. Onnit could then select only those with high AI scores for testing, hence reducing the ad spend required to determine the best performing creative.
